 Business Culture and its importance

After the war with the United States, Vietnam was a war-torn country. Agent Orange made an exceptionally dramatic effect on the people and their health. Many suffered greatly from the effects of the illegal war chemicals. After this period Vietnam sought to help itself recover. Through the process of recovering the economy it was found that international business culture exchange was a very important aspect to consider. In Vietnam, the culture in regards to business is less formal than the western culture. It is considered important to create strong friendly ties though repeated social interactions. The vietnamese may spend time together over coffee, go out drinking, and additionally may enjoy karaoke. This style of networking and creating a relationship for business is much different in the western culture. In the western culture people tend to be much more formal and it is difficult to break through the "strictly-business" mindset. It is important to consider these cultural differences when attempting to do business otherwise there can be several misunderstandings.

In can be reasonable to see why it is important to know the culture of the country you are branding as to create a smooth experience for both parties involved. In the case of our product, the tourist app, we will start in the Philippines which has a similar culture to Vietnam as people are much more friendly and expect to have friendly connections to their business partners. It is paramount for our group to be able to be aware of their business culture as our app is also to promote culture awareness. If we ourselves do not have cultural awareness then we will flounder and appear incompetent.

Question: How can our app stay on top of cultural differences as we spread from country to country?
