Funding and the options available
Through Government funding directed at specifics industries,
China has been able to increase it’s international attention. China has played
a major role in its own rebranding by monitoring its media. However there have
been many controversies and thus China has begun to earn a lot of negative
press internationally. Especially with the advent of video use there has been
no end to the strange and sad videos originating from China. This has placed a
negative light on the. However, many Western media sources have exaggerated or
made errors in regards to China. Despite all of this, it is still a very
popular tourist destination.
Our start-up is one that will substantially increase the
rate of tourism for whichever country we have ourselves established in.
Considering this, the countries who wish to increase their tourism would
benefit greatly from funding our startup operations in their area. That is why
government funding is crucial to our startup. If we are able to show to the Philippines
how much this will increase their GDP it is hopeful to see a positive return
from them. Additionally, many industries could benefit from increased tourism
so they too would be relevant funding opportunitires. Lastly, venture
capitalist funding would be our last option. We would be grateful to receive
funding in this manner however we also wish to retain majority stock and
ownership of our company. We would need to gather information on who would be
the most affected industries by tourism in order to pinpoint our best chances
in who is a good candidate to present our proposal too. The potential itemized
costs for our startup would be: initial salaries for the app developers.
Finances to fly to the Philippines and explore what would be difficult and what
would be the best strategies. Lastly, we would need funding to advertise which
is another crucial part. Without advertisements we would have no initial
traffic. We plan to advertise using travel blogs as well as travel instagrams.
This leads us to our next question: How can startup retain
majority control in the process of building itself?
