A country that has remade itself is the United Arab Emirates. It is seen as a country of lavish wealth and a luxuriant lifestyle while also being firmly grounded in Muslim traditions. It was not always that way, and at one time it was under British authority while the country was trying to grow. The United Arab Emirates was able to use its industries to grow their oil monopoly, the people and the government were then able to use this money. This money was able to transform the United Arab Emirates into a haven for tourists, filled with sandy beaches and high class resorts. Now it is seen as a luxuriant place to travel. This is similar to Botswana, as both countries have found natural resources to jump start their economies. They both also used this money to create a high-end tourism sector.
In California, to start a business one must fill out various forms to the Californian Secretary of State. Then one must pay the necessary fees. Then one must register for taxes and obtain the necessary permits. So in California, to have a startup recognized, one must complete the necessary bureaucratic steps to have a legal business. But if the question is asking a broader national validity question, I would most likely contact my local congressman and see if they could help me, or work with a lobbying group. One question I have is will Botswana be able to keep their people in poverty to maintain control of natural resources?
