Our current startup is focused on preserving the rich culture (in San Francisco Chinatown) these neighborhoods have. With our app, we hope to empower the community against the reigns of capitalism, gentrification, and colonialism, and profit driven.
Through the app, we hope to promote communities of color, bring economic wealth to local entrepreneurs/business owners, foster unique and artistic styles, whilst preserving community culture/traditions.
To brand this particular value, we'd work in collaboration with the local business owners to promote them on differing platforms to their liking (FB, insta, twitter, etc.). We'd also work to promote the "unique one of a kind" type of platform.
Few precautions when developing this idea/app is to consider is to ensure the consent and support the community. It'd be vital to communicate to local politicians, community leaders, and other stakeholders in the community.
