Week 2 - Humility and Quality? (Ryan Tom)

Refinement

Applying the National Aesthetics theory, we know that a country needs its government, industry, and people to work in cooperation. While France had all three components, they were heavy in the government area controlling policy to maintain the high quality of their textile goods, and the taxation of imports to have a successful external market.  I'm curious to how the perception of France has changed, I think in some parts of the world, France can be perceived at exclusive or condensing. They're not open to products that are not as refined, and can hurt their external perception. I'm curious if humility can be pair with high quality to achieve the same results, or if exclusivity is a necessity for success.

Seeing the true influence of government policy makes me concerned with Obama's gun control executive order. There's going to be more efficient background checks on those purchasing guns--especially those with disability. I wonder if it is among America's greater branding plan to be a nation that gives constitutional rights to an exclusive few. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/federal-eye/wp/2016/01/06/hundreds-of-new-federal-jobs-are-going-to-come-out-of-obamas-gun-control-plan/
