Week 2: In your opinion, which factor in the National Aesthetic model
(government, people, or industry) has the most influence over South Korea's
development and why?
In
my opinion, from the National Aesthetic model, industry has the most influence
over South Korea’s development, because of its mass production of products and
people, more specifically the music industry. There has been a growing number
of popularity in the music and arts of South Korea and it has been economically
beneficial to the country thus far. The use of popstars and actors from
commercial brands efficiently attracts consumers due to its use of South Korean
popstars and actors. The popularity of these individuals used in these
commercials can greatly benefit the mass views of consumers.
In
the video I have shared, the company of the waterpark named Caribbean Bay, used
two very popular Korean-pop groups. There are various kinds of other
commercials that uses actors and Korean-pop groups to gain popularity through
the audience. The entertainment industry of South Korea has been growing due to
Korean-Pop and its consumers. Not only these commercials gain popularity, but
it also gives away an image of the country of South Korea. The mass production
of Korean-pop groups, in both gender aspects, has been a growing norm due to its
high interest as job occupations. This industry not only encompasses the music
and art industry but can also touch upon the political and governmental
policies of the nation due to high demands of tourists.
Question: I would to
actually know the opinions of South Korean residents on the issue of the
growing popularity of Korean-Pop and what are their opinions on the subject.
