Week 5, Nancy Bui


 Denmark worked with tremendous concerted efforts in perfecting and "elevating" it's asthestics through it's use of strategic marketing. One of the highlighted efforts was their ability to add meaning to their concepts, as denoted "Danish Modern." With the utilization of this strategy, they were able to distinct itself from others, contour the asthetic to appeal to certain groups (class, gender, SES status, adn etc.) They branded the furniture itself to be consumer friendly and appealing. Within the article, they denote the "legitimizing the narratives" which become a huge and strong proponent of these initiatives. 
They were able to do so through "the development of social network of individuals and organizations promotion." The emphasized the "father of Danish Design", Kaare Klint. In actuality, this is due to his impressive efforts of this movement through it's revolvement around marketing. They utilized "the fashion system" which "culturally constituted world to a consumer good through sources of meaning, agents of transfer and media of connection."  In relative to our project, I think one of the strong points is to get a better understanding of consumer consumption. If we can promote/market our app/country utilizing some techniques from the past couple of countries, it could definitely push/promote our app in the right direction.
