Week 4 - Junying Ye

At the beginning of the 1950s, Japan established the "Yoshida Doctrine" with the core idea of "emphasizing economy and light arms", giving full play to the role of economic factors in national security. That is to say, Japan has achieved economic and security integration in the national strategy earlier. As for economic security, it is not only economic, but also comprehensive factors, including politics, diplomacy and culture. From the relationship between economic means and military means to complement each other, mutual transformation of economic power and military force, changes in Japan's national strategy to make the improvement and expansion of the "Yoshida Doctrine" and comprehensive safety path, and abandon the "Yoshida Doctrine" and the choice of the two specific military security line, seemingly contradictory but inherent in the same of. Changes in the economic and security relationship between the transformation of Japan's national strategy in the cause of both the international order change in common, there are policy makers on the strategic environment as well as to determine the status of international economic competition in the decline of Japan's own reasons.
