Tosha Hanford week 8

Professor Valverde brought up a very good point last class regarding how if one person in Viet Nam is asked "what is Viet Nam?" how the answer from one person might vary completely from that of nap another person. Is there more diversity in a national aesthetic or more unity? I believe that this mostly becomes a matter of perspective. My search for a county to research for this blog post led me to Argenina-another very diverse county.  From North to South, Argentina spans 4,000km from areas in the peaks of Patagonia to the coastal city of Buenos Aires. With such area, the chances of a more diverse country with a diversified national identity is much more likely than a single unified one. Argentina was discovered and colonized by Spain in the 15th century and became independent in the 19th century. In some ways, Argentina is considered to assimilate more to european cultures especially those of their ethnic perceptions. The European influx of people created a much more diversified nation, one with many people who were Caucasian. Culture in Argentina, from the food, values, and even types of dance performed in different areas are quite diverse.
Nation branding in Argentina revolved not only around directing the perceptions of the world and other nations a certain way, it's was also a way that could create a sense of integration and pride for Argentinians. However, the methods of nation branding were controlled  by state and governmental policy, and many Argentinians were not aware that such nation branding as actually occurring. Because of this nation branding in Argentina was not widely accepted by its people.
